A male suspect has been arrested after he allegedly gun-butted and fired several shots at an individual at the Parika Fisheries Compound, East Bank Essequibo (EBE).
The incident occurred at around 23:30h on Sunday.
The victim alleged that the perpetrator approached him and inquired about the whereabouts of another individual, but after he was ignored, the suspect became angry.
The enraged suspect pulled out a .38 revolver and used it to lash the victim to his face. As the victim started running away, the suspect allegedly fired three rounds in his direction.
A report was made at the Parika Police Station and acting on information, ranks went to a Parika Stelling Road property where the suspect was apprehended.
He remains in custody as further investigations continue.
