Southland International reintroduces Carlsberg Beer to Guyana

[www.inewsguyana.com] – Southland International Inc, a subsidiary of the Pereira Group of Companies, last evening launched a new chapter in its local beer industry; adding another prestigious brand – Carlsberg Beer – to its collection of beverages available locally.

The Original European Brew was launched at the 704 Sports Bar on Albert and Lamaha Streets and will be retailed for $360 per bottle.

Carlsberg is the flagship beer brand in Carlsberg Group’s portfolio of more than 500 beer and beverage brands ranging from alcoholic and non-alcoholic products including MOUSSY & SOMERSBY Apple Cider which have been on the Guyanese market for the past year.

Headquartered in Copenhagen Denmark, Carlsberg Breweries operates over 100 breweries around the world with more than 165 years of brewing expertise making them the fourth largest brewery in the world – behind Anhueser Busch, SABMiller and Heineken.

According to Chief Executive Officer of Southland International, Irzad Zamal, it was an historic reintroduction of a beer which is of uncompromising quality.

“A refreshing lager beer with a clean, crisp taste, satisfying depth of flavor and a rich, golden colour with an alcohol by volume (abv) of 5% packaged in 250ml modern attractive bottles now available in Guyana through an exclusive franchise distributor relationship with Southland International Inc,” the CEO said.Carlsberg

Carlsberg beer is locally known when it was last here in 2006 but is now back with an even more attractive and modern packaging synonymous with its rich heritage and authentic appeal to inspire and be relevant to people’s lives today.

“Take for instance the new catch phrase of the beer which allows for one to celebrate their finest moment with the finest beer, That calls for a Carlsberg!”

Carlsberg’s partnership with the renowned Barclay’s Premier League (BPL) is the latest global sponsorship and has been associated with football since the 1970s.

In addition to having ‘Official Beer’ status of national football teams England and Ireland, Carlsberg also sponsors Liverpool FC and Arsenal FC at club level. Carlsberg is also the longest-standing sponsor of the European Football Championships. The 2016 tournament will be Carlsberg’s eighth consecutive tournament since 1988.
