Rough Youth Olympics continues for Guyana

[www.inewsguyana.com] – Olympian swimmer, Britany Van Lange dived into the pool on Monday in the girl’s 100 metres freestyle but failed to make the qualifying time to move on ad the 2014 Youth Olympics in Nanjing, China continued.

Van Lange will now have to wait until Thursday to make an impression at the games when she is set to compete in the women’s 50 metres Butterfly.

Top table tennis racquet wielder Chelse Edghill crashed out of the singles competition, failing to win a single game.

Edghill, who had lost her first two games on Sunday, was unable to turn the tide in her final Group F game on Monday losing in straight sets to Croatia’s Rea Rakovac in 11-4, 11-6 and 11-2.

Meanwhile, swimmer Hannibal Gaskin will start his competition on Wednesday in the boy’s 50 metres Butterfly while Carifta 400 metres bronze medalist Jason Yaw will start his competition on the on Wednesday as well in the boy’s 400 metres.
