[www.inewsguyana.com] – The Private Sector Commission (PSC) held its annual General Meeting on Monday June 29 during which it elected Norman McLean to serve as its Chairman for the new term replacing, Ramesh Persaud.

According to a press statement from the PSC, Major General McLean was elected unopposed to the position of Chairman while Edward Boyer was re-elected as Vice-Chairman. In recent years, the former Chief of Staff of the GDF has been working on the ‘winding up’ process for the now defunct Omai Gold Mines.

He has transferred these considerable skills into his consultancy with ETK Sand Springs, an expatriate Gold and mineral mining company which is currently preparing to commence operations in Guyana.

McLean also serves as Company Secretary of the Bosai Bauxite Mining Company and the President of the Guyana Manufacturing Services Association (GMSA.)

Meanwhile, Ramesh Dookhoo was returned as Secretary and Fitzroy McLeod was elected to the position of Treasurer. Outgoing Chairman Persaud in a Facebook post noted that he was honoured to have served as the Chairman of the Private Sector Commission for the term 2014/2015 and extended “Special thanks to all those who provided their support and assistance in making the term successful.”
