[www.inewsguyana.com] – Alert marine police patrolling the Demerara River were able to recover an undisclosed amount of marijuana today.
iNews understands that the police were patrolling in the vicinity of Vriesland, Region Three, when ranks on the police patrol observed two men acting suspiciously.
As the patrol approached the men, they fled the scene. During the search of the area, the police discovered a white bag filled with leaves, seeds and stems which appeared to be marijuana.
They also discovered a ‘compress scale’. It was only over the weekend that the police in the same division conducted a search of a house at the West Bank of Demerara and discovered that the occupant cultivates marijuana.
In that case, the police removed two marijuana plants and several others which were in the nursery stages.
