[www.inewsguyana.com] – Hand In Hand Insurance Company on Friday, February 7, launched their 40 over cricket competition in an attempt to keep the level of the sport in the ancient county high.
The event, which forms part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the Board, saw the company contribute for their third consecutive year.
According to Chairman of the Special Events committee Hilbert Foster, the tournament will take the form of a knock out 40 over event for second division teams across the county.
Some of the teams expected include Blairmont, Bush Lot, Bath, Rainbow Generation, D’ Edward, Rosignol and Hopetown.
It was noted that the winners will cart off $60,000 while the runners up will take home $40,000 and the man of the match in the final, $10,000.
In handing over sponsorship on behalf of the company, Human Resources Officer Zedia Jaquim expressed delight at being associated with the tournament and noted the sterling work they have done in the county.
Meanwhile, Trophies will be up for grabs in the competition which will see its dates announced in the coming days.
