The teams that will be fighting for the title are Grenada, Barbados, Dominica, Guyana, Jamaica, St. Vicent, St. Lucia, and Trinidad & Tobago.
President of the Guyana Cricket Board, Dru Bahadur, urged the Guyana team to give their best and make Guyana proud. He further called on the senior Guyana players with West Indies experience [Tremayne Campbelle, Tremayne Smartt, Subrina Munroe and June Ogle] to lead by example and help guide the younger players.
The President also welcomed newcomer Lashuna Toussaint and wished her the best for her first outing with the senior team.
The Guyanese women will be looking for their first Regional title; the coach Andre Percival believes that these ladies are capable of accomplishing the task as the team has a rich blend of experience and new talent.
The furthest Guyana managed to reach in the Regional Super50 was the semifinal in 2012 when Jamaica hosted the Tournament.
Guyana will battle Jamaica in Round One on August 7, St. Vincent in Round Two on August 8, and St. Lucia in Round Three on August 10. The semifinals are slated for August 12, while the Final will be on August 13.
