[www.inewsguyana.com] – In observance of the Guyana Relief Council’s (GRC) 20th anniversary which was during the month of February, Chairperson of the organisation Mrs. Yvonne Hinds over the weekend visited Annai, Region Nine where she distributed school supplies and other items to students of the Annai Primary and Nursery and other residents of the community.
The GRC since its establishment has proven to be an important support to the functioning of the social fabric of the Guyanese society. The organisation carries the responsibility of bringing temporary relief, and where appropriate, rehabilitation to persons affected by disasters of any kind, and to those who are otherwise in need of urgent assistance in any part of the country.
The GRC also focuses on disadvantaged groups and others who as a result of some natural or social phenomenon seek the support and solace of the larger society.
