GTTA set sights on player development ahead of upcoming tournaments

[www.inewsguyana.com] – President of the Guyana Table Tennis Association (GTTA), Godfrey Munroe is keen on developing some of the nation’s top table tennis stars ahead of upcoming international and regional tournaments.

Training camps and other engagements in countries such as Germany and China for some of their top senior stars including Chelsea Edghill, Trenace Lowe, Shamar Britton and Nigel Bryan are being looked at by the Association.

Munroe further noted that it is imperative for the players to enhance their skill set ahead of upcoming tournaments especially the Caribbean Championships slated for July.

Meanwhile, the junior and cadets will be able to test their skills at two tournaments in Puerto Rico this coming June with the aim of improving their game.

While the full squad is not announced, Munroe highlighted that the two meets are the World Junior and Cadet Open and the Latin America Junior and cadet Championships, both in Puerto Rico.
