Leader of the APNU, David Granger.

[www.inewsguyana.com] – Presidential Candidate for the A Partnership For National Unity/Alliance For Change (APNU/AFC) coalition retired Brigadier David Granger remains unfettered by the ruling People’s Progressive Party’s (PPP) rally at Babu John and looks forward to campaign in the East Berbice Corentyne Region in the coming weeks.

PPP’s rally had drawn thousands of persons and was marked with chants of “Granger is danger” by General Secretary of the Party, Clement Rohee.

But Granger at a press conference on Friday, March 13 made it clear that this is not the case.

“Granger is not a danger, Granger is a game changer,” retorted the Presidential candidate when asked about the chants.

In fact, Granger noted that when the coalition takes its campaign to Region 6, it will be able to attract a considerable amount of PPP supporters to the opposition camps.

“I do believe that the message that we will carry to the East Berbice Corentyne region will be able to win many of the PPP supporters over to the APNU AFC coalition…things will be better for East Berbice Corentyne,” Granger said.

He noted that the message which would be delivered to those residents will focus heavily on issues currently affecting the area such as piracy and banditry.

Focus will also be placed on the sugar and rice industries since a vast majority of Berbicians are directly and indirectly affected by the functionality of the two sectors which are in dire straits.
