[www.inewsguyana.com] – High Court Judge, Justice Navindra Singh has dismissed a private criminal charge against former President and now Opposition Leader, Bharrat Jagdeo.
Jagdeo was accused of uttering racially divisive remarks by Chartered Accountant, Christopher Ram. The ruling revealed that Magistrate Charlyn Artiga has no jurisdiction to hear the case.
The charge against Jagdeo stemmed from remarks he made at Babu John, Port Mourant in March 2015 at the commemorative event for late Presidents Cheddi and Janet Jagan.
The former President had said, “The opposition consistently shout about the racism of the PPP but they practise racism. The opposition beat drums at six in the morning and say let us throw out those coolie people.”

Criminal charge against former President dismissed:
If the PPP was a vindictive and racially motivated political party then men such as David Granger would have been hauled to court to answer to murder charges for those that lost their lives when the tried to follow the GDF that were taking away their ballots.
Men such as Hammie Green was once would be King in waiting would have been dragged to the court to answer for many that disappeared and those that were killed for their political beliefs.
Carl Greenidge should be sitting in a jail cell for crimes against humanity when and his illegal PNC regime banned foreign foods from enering Guyana but Guyanese could get thsoe said banned foods from PNC sellers.
I dont know the law on this but Jagdeo should seek legal advise on if he can sue Chris Ram — sue him for 10B US $$$..make his pay for his sins in $$$ amount so that he would never do this again and to send a clear message that political witch hunters must crawl back under the slimy rocks they came from.
Let us call it what it is: One friend did another friend a favor.
In fact, this is the third favor Chang did for Jagdeo. First one was to expedite the label trial against Freddie Kissoon. Second was to allow Jagdeo to run for a third term. And now this get out of jail decision that could have seen barred from holding public office.
Now we know why corruption flourished under Jagdeo!

Wisdom has prevailed.What Mr Jagdeo said is a fact.Many Guyanese are aware of what has been said. If you go into the area ,at least what I can attest to,and ask the small children,is the same thing they are going to tell you.Mr. Ram has demonstrated pure ignorance . Do not think that you and the others who are very bias are covered. Time will tell.The truth will always be he truth.The truth will reveal.
It’s about time this ridiculous charge gets thrown out from the court system. Perhaps Christopher Ram can dedicate his energy on matters of importance. Jagdeo has put this country back on the map while this Defacto Government continues to lead us down into poverty and a state of dismay.
Obviously!!!! Now the creeping dictator will target Justice Singh…All the charges against the PPP are farcical…trump up..and any competent and neutral judge will act professionally and dismiss them. The PNC+AFC= Defacto Govt will feels threatened.
