[www.inewsguyana.com]British Rifle Coach Ian Shaw has successfully completed his training stint with the local marksmen over the weekend.

The Brit, who was here over a two week period, would have assisted the locals in tactical and strategy that they were not previously exposed to.

According to the captain of the team Mahendra Persaud, the gents were given information and training that they were once not privy to and as such they have sought to employ these tactics.

The tactics, he noted both at the individual and team levels were what Shaw sought to teach them and they are grateful for his time, energies and education.

According to Persaud, the marksmen were lukewarm to the training but they managed after the first two or three days to grove into the training and started enjoying.

He indicated that up to their final training session which ended on Sunday, the riflemen were still eager to learn. They are however even more eager to put into practice what they have learnt, the full bore captain said, adding that they are keen on developing their sport and continue their romp at the top of the Caribbean.

Shaw’s visit was an initiative of the Guyana National Rifle Association and the Guyana Olympic Association.
