[www.inewsguyana.com] – “The aim is to defeat the ruling People’s Progressive Party Civic (PPP/C) Government”; this was the response by A Partnership for National Unity (APNU) Member of Parliament, Winston Felix, when he was asked if the APNU is on a separate path from that of the Alliance for Change (AFC) with regards to the ‘No Confidence Motion’.

“We didn’t fall in overnight on the AFC’s No Confidence Motion, we support the No Confidence Motion and when it comes up in Parliament you will see that we will vote with the AFC to defeat the Government,” Felix further noted.

He was at the time responding to claims by General Secretary of the People’s Progressive Party (PPP), Clement Rohee that there is division within the APNU and the AFC in relation to the motion.

“Rohee is a blunderer, he blunders on everything and he has blundered again on this one; there is no reason for anyone to think that the No Confidence Motion is going a different route and the local government elections is going another route; the two political parties pressing for different things, but we support the No confidence Motion.”

APNU’s Leader David Granger then joined in and reminded that the Local Government Bill was amended and then passed in the National Assembly earlier in the year by the majority.

He added that this is another one of the PPP/C’s scheme to make it seem as if there is confusion within the Opposition Party’s camp.

“There is no division, there is no reviling from that position by APNU and there is no contradiction so this is an invention of Mr. Rohee, the Campaign Director for the PPP to create confusion, confusion in his own head, there is no confusion in the APNU.”
