Police Prosecutor, Michael Grant opposed bail based on the nature and gravity of the charge and the fact that an alleged weapon was used in the commission of the crime.

Grant said that Butler confessed to the crime. Meanwhile, the 16 – year – old was represented by Kendacie Rodney, while Semple was unrepresented.

They were remanded to prison and are slated to return to Court on September 30.

  1. BRING BACK PUBLIC FLOGGING, NOW! This is BS and you people are encouraging it. You do not need to be following the American “build more prisons” attitude. All robbery charges, once the individual is arrested and found guilty, he/she should be subjected to a minimum of 40 lashes with the cat-o-nine, and increase according to their ages. You need a deterrent, not housing and release, it must stop now or we Guyanese overseas, will create a WORLDWIDE petition discouraging overseas trade and tourism to Guyana.
