[www.inewsguyana.com] – A juvenile along with two men were today remanded to prison on charges of robbery under arms by Magistrate Judy Latchman.
Nineteen – year – old Romario Butler, 29 – year – old Campton Semple and a 16-year-old, all of B Field Sophia, Greater Georgetown, were not required to plea to the charge, which alleged that on June 5 at the Georgetown Seawall, they robbed Roy Vox of one HTC cellular phone, two rings [silver and gold], together valued $37,000, and a Toyota Spacio motorcar PPP 8740 valued $2.5M, property of Keith Edwards.
Butler was represented by Attorney, Ronald Burch-Smith, who applied for bail. He said his client is employed at Bunny’s located on Charlotte Street and does not pose a flight risk.
Police Prosecutor, Michael Grant opposed bail based on the nature and gravity of the charge and the fact that an alleged weapon was used in the commission of the crime.
Grant said that Butler confessed to the crime. Meanwhile, the 16 – year – old was represented by Kendacie Rodney, while Semple was unrepresented.
They were remanded to prison and are slated to return to Court on September 30.
