GTTA looking to cash in on 2014 promises

[www.inewsguyana.com]President of the Guyana Table Tennis Association (GTTA), Godfrey Munroe says that in 2014, the racquet wielding sport is looking to cash in on grants promised by the international body.

During a recent comment, the GTTA boss said that the International Tennis Federation (ITF) has promised the local association some amount of support for the building of the sport.

Grants, he noted in the areas of equipment as well as technical and tactical development for coaches, players and tournament organizers.

In terms of local improvements in the sport, Munroe cited some communication problems with the media and the fan base.

After feedback from fans, the GTTA boss said that they are looking to improve the way in which they run tournaments, and take into consideration the players and training

Table tennis in Guyana had a great year in 2013, medaling in the pre cadet junior tournaments as well as the Caribbean championships.
