[www.inewsguyana.com] – The United Republican Party (URP) has said that the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) has given approval for the URP to participate in the May 11 General Elections.
While GECOM has not yet released the list of approved contesting parties, the URP in a statement issued on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 said, they are now “the official third force”, contesting the third highest amount of Electoral Districts in the upcoming Elections.
URP says GECOM has given approval for the URP to participate in all Ten (10) of the Geographic Constituency and Nine (9) of the Regional Electoral Districts.
The Party at a special sitting of its Executives on Sunday April 12, 2015 named Mr. Brandon Joel Jones, the Chief Executive Officer for Splash Arts Entertainment, an Advertising & Production Agency as its Prime Ministerial Candidate for the May 11, 2015 Polls.
The 38 year old budding Producer and Director in the film industry in Guyana, is said to be very enthusiastic about youths and what they can do to propel Guyana into a modern and safe country.
The URP said its Presidential Candidate, Vishnu Bandhu and team has been steadfast on the campaign trail, mustering interest and spreading the URP vision of a Modern and Safe Guyana.
