An unidentified man has become the latest road fatality after he was struck down on Wednesday afternoon along the Industry Railway Embankment, East Coast Demerara.
According to information received, the man was riding his pedal cycle when he was struck by a route 44 minibus which was heading to Georgetown at around 13:15h.
The cyclist reportedly turned South unto the Railway Embankment from the access road after which he made a right turn. The minibus which was heading to the city reportedly struck him as he turned.
He was picked up by the bus driver and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) where he succumbed to his injuries at around 19:00h. The police are yet to released additional information as they continue their investigations.
