[www.inewsguyana.com] – The Guyana Police Force through its Tactical Services Unit (TSU) on Tuesday, December 23 distributed Christmas Hampers to ranks of the Division who served exceptionally during the year.
The hampers were distributed during a luncheon which was held on the Drill Square and attended by Commissioner of Police (ag) Seelall Persaud and other senior ranks.
Also present at the occasion were the family and widow of two ranks who were killed in the line of duty last year during the Middle Street shootout between the police and a berserk businessman.
Speaking at the event, Officer in Charge of the TSU, Superintendent Errol Watts reminded that the Division has 276 serving ranks but only 75 of them were rewarded with hampers and in some cases cash for their outstanding performance.
In his address, Commissioner Persaud said that the unit remains a very integral part of the Force, as it is known for being in the forefront of very important events such as providing VVIP protection, firearm training.
