Tiger Bay team leaves to represent Guyana in Trinidad in Football Tournament

Street Football[www.inewsguyana.com] – Queen street/Tiger Bay team departed Guyana for the Twin Island Republic to represent the nation in the “Guinness Caribbean Street Football Tournament.” The Tiger Bay team was the first ever in Guyana’s history to win the tournament locally.

The Team squads reads: Alpha Fletchman (Captain), Ezekiel Gravesande (Vice-Captain), Rensford Coleridge, Stephen Alfred, Nickel Skoute, Jeffery Newton, Godfrey Powers and James Meredith, officials are Wayne Griffith (referee) and Lee Baptiste (Guinness Brand Manager).

Speaking on the SportsMax TV earlier today Brand Manager Lee Baptiste said that he knows that Guyana will take home the trophy this year. He said the Tiger Bay team is very youthful and he will be looking forward to a good competition.

The other teams participating are Defending Champions Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, Antigua and Barbuda and Dominica.

The semifinals and finals will take place on Saturday followed by a celebration Concert with Reggae Singer Beenie Man and Trinidadian Phrophet Benjamin.
