[www.inewsguyana.com] – A Taxi Driver was placed on $30,000 bail on Monday, December 14 after he appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan, charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm.

Neshawn Mohammed, 30, of 34 Grove Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara, denied the allegation which read that on December 8, at Grove Squatting Area, he unlawfully and maliciously inflicted grievous bodily harm on Visnarine Singh.

Attorney Rex Mckay told the court that on the day in question his client was attacked by the complainant after he requested that Singh compensate him for damages caused to his car during an accident involving both parties.

He stated that his client made a complaint at the Police Station but the Police failed to file a report. He requested bail which was granted in the sum of $30,000. The matter was transferred to the Providence Magistrates’ Court for January 13, 2016.
