[www.inewsguyana.com] – The Guyana Police Force will be training 64 youths in various interior areas in keeping with the Force’s Social Crime Prevention Initiative which is on stream in all the Police Divisions with particular focus on youths of the various communities.
According to a press statement, the Police “F” Division under the leadership of Divisional Commander Ravindradat Budhram has launched a three-week community project at Itaballi, Mazaruni.
“The police will be assisted in the venture by facilitators from the community and it is intended to engage the youths in skills training, craftwork, sports, and educational talks in areas such as health issues, teenage pregnancy, drug abuse, child abuse and conflict resolution,” the release stated.
Additionally, the Division recently established another Youth Group at Baramita, North West District that comprises thirty four (34) youths. The business community at Baramita has already extended its support with donations of sports gears that included footballs, bats and softballs to the group.
