Niles surpasses 2013 NSC Cycle Program Record

the country’s top names and in the process broke last year’s time record to take the feature 35-lap event of the Annual National Sports Commission sponsored Mashramani 11-race cycle programme.

Niles, patient to his pedal, did the course in a time of one hour 17 minutes 36.45 seconds to break the record set by 2013 champion Alonzo Greaves (the one hour 28 minutes 15 seconds).

In second, came Orville Hinds leading the top 6 of Greaves, Raymond Jeffrey, Michael Anthony and Paul DeNobrega, respectively.

Clyde Jacobs carted off the top honors in the mountain bike class while Sherwin Sampson took the BMX boys nine to 12 years old.

In the veterans time to shine, Linden Blackman pedaled off with the veterans over-50 five-lap race while Maurice Faugendestook the five-lap race for veterans over 60.

The event formed part of the NSCs calendar of activities for the mash season.
