[www.inewsguyana.com]Leader of the Alliance for Change (AFC) Khemraj Ramjattan has confirmed that at least three more of its members have resigned from the Party. When contacted by iNews, Mr. Ramjattan refused to go into details as to the reason for the resignations as he noted that the party will issue a press statement on the issue.

Only last week, the AFC accepted the resignation of Dr. Shamir Andrew Ally, who was associated with the New York, AFC Chapter, following a bitter dispute.

At that time, Ramjattan told iNews that “strenuous efforts” were made to reconcile differences that Dr. Ally had with a few members in the New York AFC Chapter.

“Reconciliation was not reached. The quarrel was bitter and obviously prompted his departure,” Mr. Ramjattan had told this news site.

Dr. Ally made his resignation known in the publication of a letter in one of the local newspapers on September 10. He expressed his disappointment with the AFC internally and externally.

“Many emails were sent to AFC leadership on my Guyana ‘on site’ experiences on a number of issues, including finances, controls, discipline, management, leadership, et al. At the New York/New Jersey AFC chapter, a few individuals have hurdled insults, character assignations and caustic remarks to me and Dr Somar, and no person in the AFC leadership, took concrete action to ensure that there will be no repetition of such behaviours,” Dr. Ally said in his letter.
