A man who allegedly injured his sister-in-law to cause her to be hospitalised was brought before the courts charged with unlawful wounding.
Lawrence Benjamin of Barima, North West District (NWD) appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts and denied the allegation that was made out against him.
The police stated that on July 14, 2018 at Barima Karibo, North West District, he unlawfully wounded Abena Gouveia to cause her actual bodily harm.
The man who appeared before the Chief Magistrate, Ann McLennan was remanded to prison for the offense and is expected to court on August 6, 2018. The matter was transferred to the Mabaruma Magistrate’s Court.
