[www.inewsguyana.com]Fifty – year – old Morris Porter of Laluni Street, Queenstown is now a patient at the Georgetown Public Hospital after he was accidentally shot on Friday, October 18.

According to the police, at approximately, 13: 05h armed police ranks were on patrol in Craig Street, Campbellville, Georgetown, when Porter who is a friend of one of the police ranks, went up to the vehicle and engaged in a conversation with the rank.

Police noted that during the conversation, Porter began to “play around” with the rank and pulled at his firearm.

It was noted that during efforts by the rank to secure the firearm, a round was accidentally discharged which struck Morris Porter to his left side.
