Attorney-at-Law, Keisha Chase today made her appearance at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan on a charge of causing death by dangerous driving.

She is being charged with causing the death of Julian Leitch of Lama Avenue, Bel Air Park on November 10, 2015 on Duncan Street Campbellville.

keisha chase 1The prosecution’s facts presented by Police Prosecutor Deniro Jones stated that on the day in question, Leitch was attempting to cross the road at Duncan Street, Georgetown, when he was struck down by motorcar, PLL 1881, which was being driven by Chase.

He was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) where he succumbed to his injuries.

Reporters were barred from the courtroom by police officers who stated that they had instructions to do so. Normally, other persons charged are required to wait downstairs in police custody until bail is posted, but this did not happen in the case of Chase. She was allowed to wait in Court One of the Magistrates’ Courts until her bail was posted by her lawyer.

  1. Talking Garbage. Anyone would get bail when charged with causing death by dangerous driving. Also the bail set is appropriate for the charge and (supposedly) for her income. If she got special treatment from the police and/or the magistrate that is understandable. After all she is the magistrate’s fellow professional and not a common criminal. You are behaving as though the accident was a hit and run and she was under the influence of alcohol.
