Kazakhstan, Guyana engage in bilateral talks

[www.inewsguyana.com] – Guyana and the Republic of Kazakhstan are engaged in bilateral talks that could see the country condemning Venezuela’s aggressions towards Guyana.

In this regard, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Canada, Concurrent Ambassador to the Republic of Cuba, the Dominican Republic and Jamaica, Konstantin V. Zhigalovn met with Minister of State Joseph Harmon on Monday, September 14 to discuss the issue.

According to a press statement from the Office of the Minister of State, Harmon at the brief meeting familiarized the Ambassador with the manner in which the new government operates and functions.DSC_7645

“He also used the opportunity to brief the Ambassador on the Venezuela controversy pointing out the several international fora where President Granger had spoken on the matter. The Minister sought support of the Republic of Kazakhstan through the ambassador, to condemn Venezuela’s unjust claim to Guyana’s territory including maritime boundary,” the release stated.

Meanwhile, Kazakhstan Ambassador Konstantin Zhigalov expressed gratitude for the Minister’s brief and “solicited Guyana’s cooperation in seeking membership for the Republic of Kazakhstan to have a non-permanent seat on the United Nation’s Security Council.”

  1. When will Prime Minister be available to meet with accredited foreign officials? Harmon is hiring, firing, announcing and denouncing? Is this man the only face of the coalition?
