Kashif and Shanghai, GFRC ink contracts

[www.inewsguyana.com]The Kashif & Shanghai Organization signed on the dotted line alongside the Guyana Football Referee’s Council (GFRC) for their Schools tournament.

The bodies committed to each other, the players and fans of a high quality of affiliation throughout the tournament.

The games will be run in accordance with FIFA Laws and as such this is the best way forward for the young ballers, says FIFA assistant referee Dion Inniss.  Inniss singed as Vice President of the Council.

The tournament will kick off on Sunday, December 8 at the GCC Ground Bourda and is free to all school children up to the semifinals.

The champion school in the tournament will pocket $1.2 million, 75 percent of which will be used to finance a project identified by the school. The second, third and fourth placed finishers will receive $750,000, $500,000 and $250,000, 25 percent of which will be used for a project at those schools.

The Most Valuable Player will be the recipient of a laptop, as well as a one-month stint with a top club in Trinidad and Tobago.

Admission to the games will be $500 and the participating schools are Wismar/Christianburg, Wisburg, New Silver City and McKenzie High School of Linden; St George’s, Lodge, East Ruimveldt, North Georgetown, Queen’s College, Dolphin Secondary, Charlestown Secondary, Christ Church and Queenstown of Georgetown; Waramadong Secondary of Region Seven; Leonora, Stewartville, Uitvlugt and Patentia of West Demerara; Bladen Hall, President’s College, Ann’s Grove and Annandale of East Coast Demerara; Ash Education Trust of Berbice; and Friendship of East Bank Demerara.
