Guyhoc resident gets 5 years jail for cocaine offence

Thirty – year – old Matthew Adams was today sentenced to five years behind bars and fined $5,000 for having a utensil used for smoking cocaine on his possession.

Adams of Guyhoc Park, Georgetown pleaded guilty to the charge when it was read to him by Magistrate Fabayo Azore.

It is alleged that on August 16 at Brickdam Police Station, Adams had in his possession a utensil used for smoking cocaine. When given an opportunity to speak, Adams told the court that he was at the scene of a break and enter, and they found the utensil and decided to pocket it. The man claimed that he was unaware of what the item was. [Royan Abrams]
