GTTA hosts successful junior assessment

[www.inewsguyana.com] – Top junior talent Shemar Britton dominated the Guyana Table Tennis Association (GTTA) cadet and junior assessment tournament on Sunday, February 01 at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.

Britton looked in tip-top form, easily topping his competition in the boy’s 18 and under category in the round robin format against the likes of Kyle Edghill, Alec Hopkinson and Elishaba Johnson. Edghill finished second, Hopkinson third and Johnson fourth.

Kristie Lopes also showed great form, topping the cadet 15 years and under girl’s category in the round robbing format. Aneka Phillips, Simran Bissu and Brittney Bunbury finished second, third and fourth respectively.

In the cadet (15 years and under) category, the only category to have a final, Miguel Wong was too strong for his competition and defeated Nicholus Romain in the final 3-0 at 11-6, 11-6, 11-7.

The GTTA will have a fitness test for all junior and cadet players on February 8.
