[www.inewsguyana.com] – Thirteen teams will be gunning for Albion Cricket Club when action in the Elizabeth style under-21 cricket competition returns for its second installment.

The tournament which was launched recently is set to begin next weekend.

The thirteen teams that will be vying for top honors in this year’s competition are Blairmont, Bush Lot, West Berbice, Bermine, Young Warriors, Rose Hall Town Youth And Sports Club, Port Mourant, Upper Corentyne and Skeldon.

According to Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) Secretary (ag) Bibi Alisa Moonsee, the tournament will take the knock out format.

Meanwhile the company through its local representative Bissondyal Singh indicated that the second edition of the tournament is aimed at cricket development in the ancient county.

Singh said that they are keen on getting the tournament spread, promising a demerara leg soon.

The winners will take home $60,000 and a trophy, while the second placed team will take home off $30,000.
