[www.inewsguyana.com] – President Donald Ramotar at a media conference this morning (Saturday, June 7) disclosed that sensible eating and persistent exercise is responsible for his evident weight loss.
iNews spoke with First Lady Deolatchmee Ramotar earlier in the week, who disclosed that the Head of State is currently in the tenth week of a strict diet plan and has lost over 30 pounds (30lbs) already.
To this end, Ramotar noted the support he has been receiving from his wife. He said he had always tried to live a healthy life and keep fit; as he explained that he has been cutting back on the quantity of food recently.
“I have been eating a lot of steamed greens and cut out fatty foods even as I continue to work out and get help from the gym,” he said; adding that he is careful in ensuring he loses the weight and not the muscles.
Meanwhile, First Lady Ramotar clarified that her husband was not sick, while Ramotar told reporters that he also taught it was wise to lose the weight which would in turn help with an injury he suffered to his knee.
Madame First Lady spoke of the assistance she has been giving her husband by feeding him from her organic kitchen garden.
She said prior to starting his diet plan, President Ramotar had been exercising but was not seeing many results because his meals remained irregular. She said he is now eating his breakfast, mid-morning fruits, lunch and an afternoon salad, all on time and the results have been amazing.
President Ramotar seems very happy to have lost weight and has the congratulations and encouragement of the iNews team.
