East La Penitence woman busted with cocaine at CJIA

cocaine[www.inewsguyana.com] – A woman is now in police custody following the discovery of cocaine in her suitcase at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport on Thursday morning, November 05.

iNews understands that at around 5:00 hrs, ranks of the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) uncovered several packs of cocaine disguised in packets of Kerry Gold Milk.

The discovery was made when the ranks conducted a search in the suitcase of Odessa Pollard of East La Penitence, Georgetown. She was slated to depart on a Caribbean Airlines flight destined for Trinidad and Tobago.

Pollard is in the custody of CANU, pending further investigation.

  1. The real question is where is all the drugs coming from? Every week someone is caught trying to leave with cocaine so there must be a very large drug smuggling operation in the country. What happens to all the cocaine seized at the airport?? Is it kept in evidence or is it the same drugs that keep showing up again and again at the airport.
