Duo charged with stealing $1.3M in valuables from Car

Man-breaking-into-a-car[www.inewsguyana.com] – Two men charged with the offences of damage to property and larceny from a car were yesterday remanded to prison by Magistrate Judy Latchman.

Thirty-seven-year-old David Lynch of Diamond Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara and 41-year-old Kingsley Wickham both pleaded not guilty to the charges.

It is alleged that on August 30 at Georgetown, they unlawfully and maliciously damaged one right side back passenger quarter inch panel glass valued $100,000, property of Goolcharran Persaud.

It is also alleged that on the same day at Georgetown, they stole from motor car PNN 7596, $US25,000, an Apple Laptop computer, one Apple iPad with charger, four remote controls, one external hard drive, one silver Movado watch and one haversack together valued $1.3M, property of Clive Prince.

They were unrepresented and the case will call again on September 23.
