Driver’s license of dead bandit found in alleged hijacked car

The driver’s license of Ian Forde, who was shot and killed during a shootout with Police at Liliendaal, Greater Georgetown on Tuesday was found in a car that was allegedly stolen several days ago.

The car bearing registration number PNN 8866 was found parked in a street aback, Industrial Site, Ruimveldt at about 06:00h on Friday morning. However, based on reports received, the car was seen parked at the location since Tuesday morning.

The security guards of a nearby business thought t something was amiss since no one collected the car over the past few days and as such contacted the Police on Friday morning.

Upon arriving, the police noticed the dead man’s license was hanging at the rear viewing mirror. As such, ranks from the major crime unit were contacted and based on reports received, the car was unlocked and a search was conducted.

Inews understands that several live rounds of ammunition of various cabalre of weapons were found in the Silver Grey Toyota Premio Motorcar along with several other items that were taken by the police as evidence. The car is expected to be impounded as investigations continue.
