Ryan Couchman pleaded not guilty to the charge which alleged that on Saturday, December 21 at Georgetown, he discharged a loaded firearm with intent to harm or disfigur Jarred Hamilton.

Police Prosecutor, Bharat Mangru told the court that the Virtual Complainant (VC) was employed with the defendant. He said on the day in question, the VC saw the defendant and others in a car and approached him to inquire about his money which the defendant owed him.

Mangru said Couchman became annoyed and dealt a punch to the victim’s mouth. Later that day, the VC saw the victim again but this time, the accused drew the alleged weapon and gun butted Hamilton to his head.

The defendant then made good his escape after he discharged two rounds at the VC, one of which hit him in the right leg.
