[www.inewsguyana.com] – The 10-point demand saga continues and this time by ‘Blue CAPS’ – a non-governmental organization (NGO) – which today declared its 10 demands to political policy makers in Guyana.

This culture of demand for demand seems to be ‘trending’ in Guyana and was initiated by the Alliance for Change (AFC) to Government; however, the party’s demands were met by a ‘demand’ from the ruling People’s Progressive Party Civic (PPP/C).

First on ‘Blue CAPS’ demand list is Local Government Elections, followed by the demand for Guyana to be placed above Party interest.

The NGO is also demanding for an end to racial politics. As the list of demands continue, it is calling for the engagement and incorporation of civil society views in national decision making, and for politicians to compromise and negotiate on important issues and for respect to be shown for Parliamentary procedures and decisions.

The newly formed NGO sees the need for equality and respect to be shown to young leaders and that the human rights of all citizens are respected.

The demand for an end to ‘cuss out’ culture also made the list and lastly for the establishment of institutions to increase transparency and accountability

  2. Despite the allegations, insinuations, and innuendos bandied about in the press and on social media regarding the Blue Caps NGO as a front for the PPP/C or a mouthpiece for the US, Mr. Urhling’s organization has been the only organization that, so far has put forward a sensible, straight forward approach to removing the obstacles and solving the problems which so far has divided the country and has severely impeded its progress to national unity. Mr. Urhling has consistently maintained calm and focus in the midst of a simmering political storm.
