[www.inewsguyana.com] – Romello Crawford of Corentyne (District 6) sprinted away from his competition to win the boys 40km cycle road race at the 2014 edition of the National School Cycling Championships on Tuesday, November 18.

With the riders approaching the end of the race at Ocean View Hotel, neatly bunched, Crawford made his move with about 100 metres to left to win the event.

Michael Anthony of Linden (District 10) finished second while Mario King finished third for District 12 (East Georgetown).

Unfortunately with the race being tight at the end, the judges at the line were unable to furnish the media with times for the male event.

On the distaff side, Toshwanna Doris won the event for District 11 (North Georgetown) in a time of 50m 39.68s.
