A vagrant commonly called “Crab” and “Sheriga” was on Sunday evening killed in a hit and run accident along the Timerhi Public Road, East Bank Demerara (EBD).
Based on information received, the accident took place in the vicinity of Bounty Farm Limited at about 19:00h and involved an unknown vehicle.
At the time of the accident, the now dead man was wearing a pair of black three-quarter pants and no top and sported a “funky dread” hair style.
Police investigations revealed that the now dead man was walking along the roadway and a loud sound was heard by residents. As result, persons ran out from their yard and reportedly saw a motor vehicle speeding away without any lights. At the time, the place was dark due to the fact that the street lights are not working.
Upon checking, they saw the pedestrian lying on the parapet in a pool of blood and was in an unconscious state.
He was picked up and place into a vehicle and escorted to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre where he died while receiving medical attention
His body was taken to the Lyken’s Funeral Home awaiting identification and post mortem.
