Courts continues support of Boyce/Jefford Classic

[www.inewsguyana.com] – Courts Furniture Store has thrown their weight yet again behind the Boyce/Jefford Track and Field Classic scheduled for Linden this weekend.

At the handing over ceremony this morning [Thursday, August 14], the furniture store giants through its media officer, Trudy Abrams made it known why they were behind the Boyce/Jefford Track and Field Classic.

“This organization (Boyce/Jefford) has quickly become friends of Courts and this is something we are very happy to be associated with… it gives our athletes a chance to compete and as you know Courts is about having a comfortable and healthy living environment and sport is one of those ways to do so.

“This year we are told it is going to have more international competition and we are expecting a lot of excitement and good performances,” Abrams highlighted.

Director of the games, Edison Jefford, who assured that all systems are a go for Guyana’s premier track and field meet, thanked Courts for their support.

“We are happy that our track meet can be associated with the magnitude of this company, there will be good competition and all this is built into a very interesting package and we will have some of the best results this weekend and we want to thank Courts for supporting us,” Jefford said.

The two day event that will provide in excess of $2 million to clubs and athletes will see 46 total events over the course of the weekend.

The two day meet will get underway this Saturday with 18 events, 10 of those events being preliminary rounds while Sunday will have 28 finals and the crowning of a champion.
