Cops hunting remaining three NOC escapees

Police are on the hunt for three of four delinquent teenagers who escaped from the New Opportunity Corps (NOC) in Bushlot, Essequibo Coast, on Saturday last.

The escapees have been identified as Venus Edinboro, 17, of Pamala Backdam, Mahdia, Tyra Edwards, 16 of Lot 35 Avenue, Bartica, and Sinnagie James, 16, of Vigilance, East  Coast Demerara.

Edinboro and Edwards were being detained for an offence of wandering, while James was implicated in a larceny offence.

According to information received, on the day in question, the teens, in the company of 17-year-old Kim Giddings, from Blueberry Hill Squatting Area, Linden –who is an inmate and had been detained for unlawful wounding and disorderly behaviour- in the compound of the female dormitories.

At around 16:10hrs, Giddings reportedly opened a binding wire attached to the chain link fence, and the four girls allegedly escaped into the backlands.

However, on Sunday, at around 18:10hrs, the NOC Administrator (acting), Parasram Singh and staff, were able to recapture Giddings on the Airy Hall Public Road.

On Monday, the teen was escorted to the Suddie Public Hospital by a constable to be examined by medical practitioners.
