Clerk who embezzled $4.7M from De Sinco placed on $250,000 bail

Joseph Armstrong, a 38-year-old former employee of De Sinco Trading was yesterday (Friday, January 15) placed on $250,000 bail by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan when he appeared before her charged with embezzlement.
Armstrong,  of 939 14th Avenue Diamond Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara stood before the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court to answer to the charge which read that on Friday, October 23, 2015 while being a clerk employed at Desinco Trading he fraudulently embezzled $4,690,962, property of Desinco Trading.
After the Administration of Justice Act was applied he entered a not guilty plea.
Police Prosecutor Neville Jeffers related to the court that the accused had been an employee at the establishment for the past ten years, adding that the money has not been recovered.
The accused made an application for bail, telling the magistrate that he is the sole breadwinner of his family.
As there was no objection to bail, he was placed on bail on condition that he lodge his passport at the court. The matter was adjourned to February 8.

    If my brother Joseph Armstrong was making the exact same salary Nagamook was making then none of my brothers would be in troble.
