Bain boost Alpha United

Kithson Bain

[] – Alpha United has been bolstered by the return of Grenadian forward Kithson Bain just days before the club’s opening group game of the Caribbean Football Union Club Championship on Wednesday April, 15.

Bain arrived in Guyana last Friday less than a week before Alpha take on Suriname’s Inter Moengotapoe at the Providence Stadium.  Coach Wayne Dover, who lamented the team’s poor scoring record in the recent Kashif and Shanghai tournament, said Bain’s arrival is a boost to the side.

It is hoped that Bain will be more than capable of filling the boots of forward Dwight Peters who was injured in the competition.

Inter Moengotapoe is scheduled to arrive in Guyana on Monday afternoon, while Central Football Club of Trinidad and Tobago is due on Wednesday.

The Trinidadians and Surinamese face each other on Friday April, 15 while Alpha clashes with the former on Sunday. All matches will be played at the Providence Stadium.

The Guyana Defence Force will play its first match on Wednesday at the Ato Boldon Stadium, in Trinidad and Tobago, where they face Trinidad’s Direct TV W Connection. On Friday, they will play Waterhouse of Jamaica and finish off action in Group Two on Sunday, with a game against SAP Football Club of Antigua. (Digicel SportsMax).
