an Parmanand Persaud has announced that the Anna Regina Multilateral School (ARMS) will be reopened on Wednesday (December 4).
The Chairman said flood waters have receded and the Regional Administration in collaboration with the Department of Education conducted a massive cleanup exercise following flooding which forced the suspension of classes.
The building was washed by members of the Community Drainage Enhancement Program and disinfectant with germ fighting detergent.
Persaud said the Administration also placed sand on the water logged compound where students will traverse. According to the Chairman, septic tanks were also discharged in the cleanup exercise.
Over one thousand students are expected to resume classes on Wednesday morning. On Monday (December 2) Minister within the Agriculture Ministry Mr. Alli Baksh visited the school and inspected the areas that were flooded.
