Andrew ‘Six head Lewis’ dies in accident

Andrew-Lewis-205x300[www.inewsguyana.com] – Former World Boxing Champion, Andrew ‘Six Head’ Lewis is dead, following an accident on New Hope, East Bank Demerara road on Monday, May 04.

According to reports, Lewis was riding a bicycle, when he lost control and rode into a motor car. He was rushed to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre where he died.

Lewis became famous when he fought for a world title and became the first Guyanese to capture the WBC Welterweight title in 2001.

Police later confirmed that the accident occurred at approximately at 12:00hrs.

 Police investigations  revealed that Lewis was riding a bicycle, when it is alleged that he suddenly turned across the road and was struck down by a motor vehicle. The driver of the motor vehicle is in police custody assisting with the investigations.

  1. I remember meeting you as a teenager in Brooklyn. I even got to share a table with you and your sweet mother. It was such an honor to meet you.
