Albouystown youth remanded for stabbing incident

[www.inewsguyana.com] – Patrick Smith of Albouystown, Georgetown, accused of assaulting another man, was remanded to prison Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan.

It is alleged that the 20 – year – old on October 23, 2015 at Independence Blvd, Georgetown, unlawfully and maliciously wounded Michael Ridley.

Smith, who is a Mason by profession, pleaded not guilty to the offense.

The Prosecution, who objected to bail, explained that the accused on the day in question armed himself with two knives and inflicted serious injuries towards the virtual complainant, who received several stab wounds about his body and was hospitalized for a while. The court heard that he has since been released and is recuperating from his injuries.

The accused was remanded to prison and is expected to make his next court appearance on November 16.
