An intelligence led operation on Saturday last has resulted in the discovery of a quantity of marijuana and the apprehension of four men at Hope/Nooten zuil Lowlands, East Coast Demerara.

The suspects have been identified by the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) as Jason Dhanpat, Inderjeet Beepat, Jermain Hikel and Teairre Ackeem Cush.
According to CANU in a statement, on July 28, 2018, ranks uncovered a wooden vessel and a taxi both carrying bulky bags of suspected marijuana.

The marijuana amounted to some 116.2 Kilograms, approximately 256 pounds.
CANU said that more specifics cannot be provided at this juncture as investigations are ongoing.
