[www.inewsguyana.com]- Another brilliant batting performance from the Chennai Super Kings led them to an 8 wicket win over the Delhi Daredevils in the second of today’s Indian Premier League matches.

Set the target of 179; the Chennai side wasted little time in pouncing on the lack of teeth in the Delhi bowling creating an 82 run stand before the first wicket fell.

Dwayne Smith hammered his way to 79 from 51 balls compliments of 4 fours and 8 Sixes while his opening partner Brendon McCullum made a patient 32 off 35 balls with 5 fours.

Cruising when those two wickets fell, the Super Kings welcome Suresh Raina to the crease who took the team home with his swashbuckling 47 from 27 balls which included 6 fours and 1 six.

Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni also ended unbeaten on 12 from 5 balls.

Wayne Parnell’s 4 overs went for 25 runs and yielded 1 wicket while Laxmi Shukla had his 4 overs go for 31 runs with the same yield.

Earlier, Delhi pushed on to 178 for 5 with Quntion de Kock and Murli Vijay setting the tone with 24 from 16 and 35 from 30 respectively.Dwayne Smith

Skipper Kevin Pietersen added another duck to his tally while Dinesh Karthik played the most influential role (51 from 36 balls; 4 fours and 3 Sixes).

In the end, Jean Paul Duminy slashed 28 from 17 balls and Kedar Jadhav 19 from 18 to both end unbeaten on those scores.

One wicket each went to Ben Hilfenhaus ( 4-0-1-34), Mohit Sharma (4-1-1-51), Ravindra Jadeja (4-0-1-23) and Ravichandran Ashwin (4-0-1-29).

Tomorrow’s lone match brings together the Mumbai Indians and the Royal Challengers of Bangalore from 10:30.
