A 69-year-old unvaccinated woman from Region Four (Demerara-Mahaica) who was infected with the novel coronavirus has died, taking the country’s death toll to 1040.
Meanwhile, the country has recorded 40 new cases of the virus, taking the total positives recorded to date to 38,966.
There are eight persons in the ICU, 28 in institutional isolation, 676 in home isolation, five in institutional quarantine, and 37,214 recoveries.
