One of the alleged perpetrators who shot and killed a young father execution-style on Tuesday night in the vicinity of the two Brothers Service Station, Eccles, East Bank Demerara (EBD) was arrested in a private city hospital where he was receiving treatment.

The suspect has been identified as Devon Williams, 25, of Albouystown, Georgetown.

Police reportedly received information from hospital officials when they swooped down and arrested the suspect.

He is presently under police guard.

Williams is reportedly being treated for injuries which he sustained when the vehicle in which the victim was traversing in, slammed into him and the second suspect.

Killed: Kelvin Walters

It is being speculated that the victim, Kelvin Walters’ was a witness that was scheduled to testify in the case where a grenade was thrown at a media house in 2015.

However, this is yet to be confirmed.

This publication had previously reported that 35-year-old  Walters of Eccles Public Road died after he was shot to his face.

The ex-solider, who also worked as a bodyguard for a mining company was shot by one of the men who rode up on a motorcycle after he reportedly refused to pull his car over into the corner.

After being shot, Walters reportedly slammed into the two men on the bike.

Based on reports received, the two men fell to the roadway, but hurriedly got up and escaped on foot leaving the motorcycle and a weapon at the scene.

An injured Walters was pulled from his motorcar and rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

At the time of the shooting incident, his wife and daughter were in the vehicle and sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision.

The Police are currently seeking the other suspect as they continue their investigations.
